[The sun is only just beginning to slide down past the horizon, so it seems as though their timing is dead on]

[Slides his right off the spear with his teeth, absently, eyes on the color of the sky - though, sometimes, his eyes drift sideways instead, to catch the way those colors touch her face and reflect on her glasses]

[Her mouth stays in a gentle curve, eyes on the show as well. Though every so often, she'll peek over at him, whether reacting to the feeling of eyes on her or not.]

[He catches her looking, once - flushes, a little, and ducks his head]

[Reaches out to take her hand, lacing their fingers together]

[She does the same being caught, and looks away, cheeks flushed. But her fingers stay linked with his, and her smile is back by the time she's grabbed a bite of rice ball]

[Helps himself to another stick of yakitori so that he can eat one-handed]

[After a long couple of beats, he gives up the stolen peeks - rests his head on her shoulder, instead]

[Hums, pleased; a few beats further and she rests her head against his, still munching on her riceball.

The sun makes its way down lower, taking the sky from yellow to fiery oranges and reds.]

[He finishes the skewer - doesn't reach for another one, because he'd rather stay where he is, tucked in alongside her, the soft rhythm of her breathing a quiet backdrop to the show stretched across the sky]
