[Rinses until it runs pretty clean, then sets the bottle down. A moment, then she wipes his face dry with the towel, gently. Stares at the empty socket for maybe two beats too long before dipping to dig for the antibacterial ointment]

[Sorry not sorry, the socket is not actually empty. No one has actually done anything with the eye, oops.]

[And he is definitely wincing some when she cleans it out.]

Then she retreats, turns to toss the swab in the trash. It takes her a minute before she turns back to him, eventually offering the cotton on his own time]

[During the cleaning, he loses what little color he has, until his face has an unhealthy kind of pallor. He is not quite steady on his feet - looks like he might pass out, honestly.]

[It takes him a second or two before he can manage:]
